Inside Our Holiday 2011 Issue ... 'Tis the Season! The holidays are coming. Time to get ready! What would winter be without a comfy quilt to keep by the fireside or a colorful wall hanging to celebrate the season? Our designers have been as busy as elves, stitching together bright fabrics in innovative designs. Even my office looks wonderfully festive with quilts and Christmas fabrics piled high on the shelves! For this special holiday issue, we've tried to include a variety of projects—both large and small. If you have time to make only one or two smaller items this year, you can choose a table setting, such as Making Merry, or a small wall hanging, such as Snow Chain. If, on the other hand, you have more time to spare, there are plenty of larger quilts to select from, such as Evergreen and Ice Crystals—even a fabulous bed quilt, White Magnolias , that you can use all winter long. Readers who enjoy appliqué can check out Poinsettia Basket Runner and Christmas Morning. Both projects will add instant elegance to your home décor! We'd like to point out that, even if you don't celebrate the holidays, you can make many of these designs in other fabrics and colors of your own choosing to use during different seasons. Also, be sure to read about one of our favorite artists, Pat Buckley Moss. We managed to obtain images of some of her snowy settings in order to get everyone in the mood for winter! In closing, The Quilter staff would like to wish all of our readers much peace and happiness during the holidays. May all your dreams come true! |
