A Gift of Quilts

More than 10,000 people from all over the United Kingdom, ranging in age from five to ninety, participated in a truly unique project during the last few years—to make a patchwork quilt for each country taking part in the 2012 Olympic Games and Paralympics as a token of peace and friendship. Individuals, quilt guilds, women's organizations, students, Brownie troops, prisoners, and retirement home residents were among those who took part in the enormous project that came to be known as A Gift of Quilts.
