Have you ever participated in a quilt block exchange? The wonderful thing about organizing a block exchange with your quilting buddies is that you can use easy strip piecing techniques to make your blocks, then keep some and trade the rest so that you end up with blocks made with lots of different fabrics. [Ed. note: If only a few people are participating, omit the strip piecing and cut up lots of scrap fabrics instead for more variety.] The fun really begins when each quilter sews her blocks together, only to discover that her quilt top looks totally different from everyone else's!
